I’m a junior and a prospective FSU freshman. I know that if you put your major in as Nursing when applying to FSU and you get accepted, it would read as "Accepted-Nursing NFA (Not Fully Accepted)
If you do not get accepted into the nursing program, what else do you do to still pursue nursing? Do you do two years pre-req then apply again?
For your first two years you will be taking all your general education classes as well as the pre reqs for the nursing program. Your major will be pre nursing or nursing NFA. In the spring semester of your sophomore year, you will apply for admittence to the nursing major as it is limited access. The application includes an interview which basically makes up for 80% of the admission decision for the major. If you are not accepted you will have to change your major if you plan on staying at fsu. You can also transfer schools if you’re dead set on nursing. There are also accelerated nursing programs that some schools offer to students that have a bachelors degree in an area besides nursing. I go to fsu and I know a lot of people in the nursing program or who were hopefuls and had to change their paths of becoming nurses. Hope this helps!
