I haven't even sent in all my apps yet, but I was wondering: what happens if you get rescinded after you accept and reject offers to other schools? I know it's a rare case, but I'm still curious. Apparently, a few years ago at my school a girl was almost rescinded from Dartmouth (this came out of the counselor's mouth) because she dropped down 2 rank spots. So obviously, being rescinded is entirely possible. Would any school that you rejected admission to consider re-accepting you? Are you going to have to take a gap year and see what happens? What are your options?

I highly doubt that she actually almost got rescinded for dropping two rank spots. There was probably something else going on...

Then your life ends RIGHT THERE AND THEN!

Jk. Just keep working hard all throughout the rest of this year. Hard work will pay off in the end. Don't slack, don't smoke pot, and don't get wasted at time-wasting parties and you will be fine. Just don't even think about being rescinded and you won't be rescinded.

fhg: The counselor said Dartmouth accused our school of lying. (She was valedictorian, but there was a system error or something and she got ranked 3rd instead of 1st on her final transcript. It happened over the summer and apparently it took weeks to sort out. Total horror story, but she's graduating this year from Dartmouth, so I guess it all worked out.)

Ah, that makes sense then. You wouldn't get rescinded for just dropping down two rank spots.

Basically, don't worry about being rescinded. As long as you continue to work hard, you will be able to keep your acceptances.

Aye. I concur with fhg's statement.
