what happens if you get written up for pot?

It's retarded. I'm normally a very good/studious student and have a freaking 3.95 gpa but now some stupid snitch told on me for taking ONE HIT of pot :(

I have to meet with the RD now. What can happen? :(

from what i understand, you won’t be able to participate in swim meets any time soon.

But seriously, probably not much. Tell them that it was your first time and you will never do it again. It’s a minor offense, they can’t throw you out over it. But if they write you up you will probably have to report it when you apply to any graduate school.

It can’t be that serious to report it though can it??

i knew a guy who had a drinking thing that he had to report. I doubt it’ll be that serious, since January, punishment for having or smoking pot is a lot less than it was in the past.

Do you live in the Units? Who the hell told on you? lol
They’re not gonna throw you out, but you didn’t get caught right? I thought they can’t accuse you of anything unless they see it for themselves.

they will probably make you make a poster about how smoking pot is bad. They will put said poster on all the floors. Otherwise, just assure them you won’t do it again and its just a slap on the wrist.

That’s what they made my roommates do for a reported offense.

I think you’ll only have a problem if you were doing it in Freeborn. LOL.

Just explain your situation and say you won’t do it again. At most, you have to do an essay or make a poster. You can bs both.

Seriously berkeley doesn’t care. It’s just that by law, they are required to enforce pot rules.

Just be courteous to your RD since he can make your life hell if you aggravate him. Be really nice and say you’ve learned your lession and blah blah. If he reports it on your permanent record, then I’d reccomend you challenge that via the student advocacy group on campus.

Don’t worry about it. Nothing much will happen.

you should go in high and then say you won’t do it again.

Lie. You didn’t do it and they have no proof.

If you are asked to sign anything at the meeting - Don’t. Ask to take it with you to review it first.

What the hell has happened to Berkeley? It used to be that you couldn’t drive down the streets with the windows open without getting high. Even Stanford doesn’t give a **** about students smoking pot…

I’m pretty sure the only people who care in the entirety of Berkeley are certain RAs. Most RAs will be like, we don’t care what you do just don’t make it blatantly obvious in public, don’t be insanely loud in your rooms after quiet hours, and don’t pass out in the bathroom.

You could be fined, but I think that is it.

They need proof.

When meeting up with the RD, be nice and courteous, but play the game of plausible deniability.

I personally think it’s BS to say that you won’t do it again. You were experimenting, and if you’re asking this, you probably haven’t made up your mind yet.

Just remember: the RD only has to put on an image that he cares. Help him with that goal, and you’re good to go.

But, if the RD pushes, ask to face your accuser in a sit-down meeting with the RD.

The accuser probably won’t show. Case closed.

You get to know who to avoid from here on out.

If no photos/video was taken there is always plausible deniability.
