what happens if you shine in every category except your sat scores?

i took the test today, like thousands of others across the country. but i'm doubtful that i raised my score by much. i'll be lucky to get a 2000, much less 2200. who knows. but in the event that, let's say, i get something like a 1980. do you think that would really hurt my chances?

not to be overconfident or cocky or anything, but i do shine in every place except for my sat scores. i know that i'll do very well on the subject tests. and my ap tests. but as for sat's...

but i have seen a few examples of applicants that got below 2000 and got in. their essays were really strong and so were there other academic areas. like me i guess.

gah, i'm so worried. :(

wait, does columbia take your best scores from each section from both times that you took the test or do they only take the best overall score? like, if your reading and writing were better the first time but your math was better the second time, do they take the 2 from the first time and the one from the second and use those?

Columbia superscores.
