I'm applying to both spring 2011 and fall 2011 semesters because my high school ends in November (because I finished my examinations early.) I get to know if im rejected or for some fall colleges only AFTER the spring semester starts. So what if i get into a spring college, and then get an acceptance letter and want to start there. Eg, I Get into Purdue (Spring Semester), but later get the acceptance letter for Carnegie Mellon =/

Your question sounds much too hypothetical, and the situation (for selective colleges like those in your example) unlikely. But suppose that it could and does happen. It seems unethical or at least borderline unethical to plan to transfer should this situation occur.

But perhaps you see it differently, then how would you continue with the spring semester (which would be semester 1) courses. If you complete them and then transfer, it’s unclear how and when you would take the second semester of those courses. Most first year college courses are 1 year. You’d lose the semester worth of work!

So the conclusion: if accepted stay at the spring semester school. Or take a gap semester and plan to start college in the fall.

Well its not hypothetical, cuz thats what I’ve done xD

Okay well my ED is for a fall semester school, so if I do GO to a spring semester school, wouldnt i HAVE to transfer to the ED school if i got accepted?

Just a warning…

If you need financial aid, then applying for spring is not a good idea. Those who start in the spring get the worst FA packages.

And, if you’re expecting merit scholarships, those aren’t usually given to spring admits.

So, what is your financial situation? Will your parents pay for wherever you go?

What are your stats?

What is your ED school?

(we need to deal with facts.
