What happens to AP scores?

HI!

Before posting this, I looked around but I was unable to find the answer. In June, I finished my sophomore year in High School; and I had taken AP EURO. Although I had studied for the exam; I was very disappointed when I finished the exam.

Last week, I received my AP score, and without a surprise, I got a 3. I had sent my scores to Brown University, and I was wondering what they will do to it. When I do apply, will what (disappointing) AP Grade, will that count against me? Or will Brown think that the student sent the grades for a reason (Benefiting Me?).

History was not my thing (at all). I want to attend the Brown school in engineering (Where the history credit probably not as important as the Calculus credit). I'm very good with math.

I plan on sending ALL of my AP Scores to Brown (PLEASE tell me if that is a good idea or not). Please let me know what happens to those AP Scores and PLEASE fell free to offer advice about Brown.

Thanks for reading this :D

AP scores are different from other standardized testing. You self-report AP scores on the college application but only send an official score report to the school where you decide to matriculate. An exception is NYU which takes AP scores in lieu of other testing; there may be other schools that do this too. But for the vast majority of schools (including B) you don’t send AP score reports for admissions purposes, they are used later for giving AP credit and placement purposes.

My advice to you is to NOT send any more AP score reports until you matriculate, save yourself some money and the option of holding back scores on your application.
