What happens when an SAT is submitted with a test irregularity?

So I took the SAT with essay today and my entire testing room had defective test books, meaning that a lot of the pages were smudged, faded, or just blank, making answering the questions nearly impossible. The test center told us that they would be submitting a test irregularity form, but I want to know what will happen to our scores. I filled in random bubbles for the ones that I could not answer, since there is no penalty for guessing. Will the College Board let us retake? Is there anyone who has been in this situation before?

They probably won’t report a score at all and will just give you a make up date. They should give you a choice of a date before the next test date in case you need it ASAP for an app. My son had a test where they just had a problem with the essay part and they gave him scores on the other sections but there was an asterisk that it was an irregular test and he had the option for a free re-test. I’m not sure what schools would do with it honestly (if they would see the asterisk or not) and he never submitted it because he had better ACT anyway. I thought we should get a refund and a retake honestly but they don’t really seem to care when they mess up.
