I've got dismissed from a four year college during my second year of my BA. Sc in Computer Science, they told me to apply in next fall so they would not allow me to attend a four year college until next year. Now I've transferred to a community college. I'm planning to take rest of my classes like calculus and programming classes there and then transfer back to the same four year college. Do you think i would be accepted there with the classes i took in community college? I was dismissed with a GPA of 1.69 and even if they accept me would i be starting from the same GPA i.e 1.69? if yes then would i still be treated as a probation student which means I would be restricted to take no more than 6 credits in a semester until i do not get my GPA above 2.00?

These are questions that need to be answered by the administrators or advising counselors of your particular institution. Usually a student is told in writing what they need to do to re-apply for admission, and it frequently involves demonstrating at a community college that you can earn at least a 2.5 there for a specified length of time or number of credits. When you return you are frequently on probation til you can prove you can earn a 2.5 the next semester. If you return to the same school, that GPA sticks with you and you must immediately work to drag it above 2.0 or you’ll be back on probation again. Each school has its variations on what I’ve said, and each should give the student a written stipulation. You can find much of this information in the student catalogue. I generally recommend students not return to the same institution they were suspended from because you keep the same GPA and you return to the same people and issues that contributed to your suspension.
