What happens when your scores go down???

Most of the colleges look at our combined SAT scores, but would it still matter if your SAT scores you took this time were lower than the ones you took last time?

mine dropped this time and I want to know this too

haha same here

yeah someone please answer this question!
my math score dropped dramatically.. so my combined score would be improved but since colleges look at all of them i don't know if they take that into account since it looks kind of bad. my second score was lower thanks to math even though i improved on critical reading quite a bit.

yeahh an answer to this would be awesomee?? anyone??

don't they usually take the highest score that you've ever received on each section?

but then again some schools like Penn State, take the highest total that you received in one sitting.

I'd really like to know too. My critical reading + math improved (including an 800 on CR), but my overall dropped 20 points (to a 2140) due to what was, unbeknownst to me, a terrible essay. =/

Check the Harvard viewbook for the typical answer:

You get the benefit of your best scores, period.
