what happens...

if the sat should happen to be cancelled due to inclement weather?

The College Board will post new test dates on their website within a couple of days.

they usually give the test within two weeks after the original date, or at least thats how it was for my SAT

Would they j ust cancel it for New England or something?

We just went through this with the Jan test. Tests are cancelled by the individual test centers, not by the College Board, so the tests won't be cancelled en masse for New England (or any other area). Although some SAT test centers in my area cancelled the Jan tests Fri evening, my son's didn't cancel until about an hour before the test was to begin.

The College Board posts test center cancellations, but they have a huge lag. My son's test cancellation wasn't posted by CB until the test would have been over. So watch your TV cancellations.

The test will be rescheduled. The rescheduled date will be posted on CB within a few days of the original test date. CB will also mail you a notification, but my son's notification arrived only a couple days before the rescheduled test. Check the notification! CB changed at least one student's test center for the rescheduled date.
