I've been wondering lately what seniors have been doing during the winter break after submitting all their college applications, so I decided to open this thread to hear it from you.

Are you still researching about colleges 24/7?

Are you studying/reading?

Are you playing videogames?

In general, what are you doing?

Feel free to share your pre-college experience with us.

Yeah, I’ve been doing a lot of research on the colleges I’ve applied to, and am trying to get myself excited or look forward to my second-choice schools in case I don’t get accepted to my first choice.

I’ve also been reading and studying more, but I still have two applications left to submit by Jan. 15.

I usually do play video games, but haven’t at all recently for some reason.

But yeah, in general just keeping grades up, filling out scholarships, anxiously waiting for the decisions e-mails, and enjoying my last semester of high school.

I finished my apps in early November, so I spent the time remaining catching up on my classes, because I had been neglecting them during application season. Now that I’ve heard back from most of it, I’m starting to research the colleges more and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of each. My top choice constantly changes, depending on my mood, so I’m trying to gather an objective list. But yeah, I remember right after app season, I slept a lot and slacked off a lot too. It was only after winter break (when I got 13+ hours everyday and was gaming almost every awake hour) that I’m now more studious and caring about my grades.

I’ve been reading a bit, procrastinating a LOT… senioritis has gotten the better of me. Two weeks till the end of my first semester and then I don’t know if I’m going to touch a textbook for the rest of the year.

Well, I am international and unfortunately can not sign for many scholarships and need-based fin-aid. Also, the school year here goes from February to November, and, at this time, I have already graduated from high school.

I applied to 12 colleges so I don’t think I’ll research or apply to any more lol. Have I been reading no, but I have been watching Discovery, natgeo a lot as I always do. I will still do my work after mid terms where I’ll send out my mid year reports but it won’t bother me if I do poorly. I won’t lose sleep over it. Have I been playing video games. Yes. I’m also going to visit 5 of my top schools campus in February, Cornell, Penn, Boston College, NYU, and Villanova. I will also e - mail my admissions officers at the end of the month. Other then that I’m just waiting for the decisions to be posted which will be in late March, early April.

I thought senioritis was going to hit me bad, but it didn’t. (It did hit somewhat though) But, right now I’m focusing on getting to the end of the semester and making my mid year grades look good for colleges. Only TWO more weeks and then I won’t have to worry that much.

Well, I finished my applications a little over a week ago, and right after that, school was back in session. Strangely enough, I had very little homework the week after break so I’ve been doing a lot of nothing. I should feel more relaxed after I finished my apps, but I’m not. But maybe that was because I had two interviews this weekend (Kenyon and Wellesley). Now that those both are over, I don’t know…
