What higher ranked schools are you passing on to attend davis?

Congrats. It still doesn't explain how Davis having a bigger campus means that it's a better school than UCI.

I didn't say that it does, so don't direct your vitriol towards me.

And yes, I know they did. And let us not forget the Los Angeles Coliseum, either. :)

Dude, I know YOU didn't. I'm just trying to bait collegemom into answering.

Pfft...Coliseum. Such a stickler for details.

going back to the topic, i'm passing on ucsd and ucsb (which is arguably higher than ucd).

what the hell....seriously if you like irvine better than davis then don't come into the uc davis thread. it just causes bitterness. fine let me reword that. you can come look at the uc davis posts but don't bash davis. obviously stupid arguing crap is going to start up. i've already made my decision on davis over irvine so don't try to come in here and make me regret my decision. good god some people can really be ruiners. go back to your own irvine thread for christ's sake. you can bash davis there all you want. but us northern californians are nice and respectful so don't ruin it. i'm done...

I'd just like to come into this thread and say one word.....

hi

hahaha glad I left town for a couple of days! UCLA I already explained MY reasons (my opinions) based on facts that are relevant to me. As for size of the UC; I believe the size leaves more room for future growth. As for my other opinion UCD > UCI, it is my opinion. :)

collegemom,

Opinions are like a certain orafice...

Anyway, campus size seems to be a pretty poor indicator of growth, considering that some smaller campuses (such as UCLA) just simply build "up." Having a bunch of land doesn't really mean much, especially to Davis, where the school is not allowed buildings taller than a certain number of stories (I think it was 7?)

Davis may indeed offer better opportunities than Irvine, but you list some pretty poor reasons for your argument.

Umm... Davis is building a hotel and conference center, and a stadium, UCLAri... and a museum of art... does UCLA have room for such expansion? No. Collegemom's point is thus a valid one...

Why do you even post here? Man, someone's insecure.

I think UCLA already has a conference center, http://www.uclaconferencecenter.com/

back on topic: i am passing up Emory University

UCLAri:
I've posted this link before, but here it goes again. Please read it. Davis is on the major upswing. Peace out.

Also, I don't have a problem with anyone having an opinion. I just like posters to be clear about what is fact and what is not. :) UCLA is a fine institution. Do you attend there?

I graduated from UCLA.

I have no problem with opinions, as long as people give good reasons for them. Or at least give good reasons.

inpltclycorrect,

UCLA has a conference center, a hotel, and plays at the Rose Bowl. So what's so different?

True, UCLA has no room for outward expansion. But, there's constantly construction on campus, and most of the time, they usually just build taller buildings. Think New York. Are you going to tell me that New York has less potential than LA, merely because of available real estate?

collegemom,

Read your link. No offense, but ::yawn.:: It sounds like the same crap that UCLA gushes about in their magazine. OMG! Construction and lots of money being spent on this or that.

Then why aren't you a bit more careful with what you express as "fact?"

I try to be very careful about posting information with links, or facts with a source. When I give an opinion, I say it is my opinion. I think you do a good job of that as well, and I'm not sure why you are being so aggressive on here. :) I love UCD and I have stated that on more than one posting. I am proud to promote the school because I believe in UCD. You are welcome to disagree with me. Sorry you found the article about UCD dull. I personally find arguing with you to be a bit of a yawn, and would rather discuss the various schools with other interested posters. So peace out UCLAri. ;) Oh and congrats on graduating from UCLA.

collegemom,

Are you really a parent? "Peace out"? How...I dunno...outdated and childish.

In other words, you only want to hear from people who agree with you?

Look, I think UCD is great. But I think that it's a hard sell to say that land makes for a better school per se. Many of your reasons were not the best reasons why UCD can be considered a better school than UCI. If you're going to be a shill, at least be a good one.

UCLAri
Has anyone ever called you a troll?

No, but I have been called a troll baiter on occasion.

What have I said that even remotely qualifies as internet trolling?

Challenging your opinions is not trolling. What would be trolling would be if I came in and said, "OMG! UCI is the best! You're all a bunch of #%^@^#s!!! F U all!" Or something to that effect.

UCLAri collegemom16
Maybe you'll stop arguing? Whats the point of that?

Yes you more than qualify.
