I was on a Reddit cooking thread which asked “what’s your favorite one-use thing in your kitchen” and many people said “fire blanket”. They appear to be a great easy-to use (and actually reusable) alternative to a fire extinguisher especially in the kitchen where a grease fire on the stove may occur. They can also be used for the car or camping or even wrapped around your body to put out or escape a fire (they come in several sizes).
Here is a TravelPro trifold that has decent reviews! I’d seriously consider this one if I were looking for a suit bag.

Make sure he packs his suits covered in dry cleaner’s plastic bags. Keeps them from wrinkling!
This is the bag we have (or similar). We got at at Costco many years ago for $139 apiece.
Here’s a pretty affordable duffle holding a suit on Amazon in assorted covers that is 4*+. Men’s Warehouse used to carry something similar.

With proper folding and a drycleaner bag there should be no problem packing suit (jacket and pants) in a carry-on). Done many times. Same for dresses. If no dry cleaner bag then tissue paper works well.
I just bought a blanket for my kids, us and my mother in law.
Had you heard of them before? I had not and while it’s good to have fire extinguisher around I know reading instructions while the fire is going and hoping the extinguisher hasn’t expired isn’t the best idea. Watch a video or two on how to use them–the idea is to wrap the upper corners around your hands for protection first before blanketing a fire on the stove. One of those things you hope to never need!
My husband used a Henty bag. It sort of rolls up. His is older, and he isn’t sure if they even make them anymore.
They do…they are from Australia.
I’m appalled at how much stuff I’ve bought. And wouldn’t you know it. Just as soon as I finished my shopping, the kids announced that this year we are just focusing on the grandkids. LOL. Hopefully they will be very pleased to find I shopped early. I’m absolutely fine with no gifts for me. Just all being together is my gift. Though we still don’t know when that will be.
Think I’ve bought all my own gifts and am now using them. Saves on wrapping! Happy with every thing people are giving me.
My mom always gives me money, I always buysomething for myself during the December sales, and then in January we both pretend I just bought whatever it is (shoes, this year)
I just reserved a beach rental for a week for this summer’s family vacation - I’ll probably stick some sunglasses or sunscreen in everyone’s stocking. I also have sent my Thankful letter asking for charity suggestions to make in their honor as part of their Christmas gift.
They all typically buy what they want and need so now I can focus on the grandchild and grandpups.
Not buying much this year. Still this lonnnng list of ideas was fun to peruse The 2023 Holiday Gift Guide - The New York Times
That’s what I thought. I always think I would panic trying to read the instructions on a fire extinguisher. Good idea about the video.
For someone who requested this game—it’s now available to be ordered.

Macys also has it listed, as does this other company.
The game is The Fox Experiment that I’m waiting for (vs The Fox in the Forest). Not out until Dec 8.
Ok, here’s a kickstarter edition available.
Here’s an ebay listing.
Perfect! Just the list I needed!
Thank you! Got it! Some pre-order sites are already sold out! Appreciate you finding that!
