THis kid at my school has average grades, below average test scores, is an aspiring frat boy who already has 2 dui's and he got into hopkins cause he is good at lax, and people say that he wont even start for them, its just that hopkins doesnt want to have to play against him, how does he get in when alot of really qualified applicants get rejected??

Because he's good enough to be recruited. I doubt Hopkins would care if they ever played against him.

It doesn't seem fair, but being fair is not a concern.

It's total BS. I wonder who would have been in his place.

I'm just thankful that there is only one team that affects admissions offers this way. I'd hate to have 32 competitive D1 Teams. One great one is enough.

Thats not to say that I'd be mad if we had some more DI teams...my bro is like whats lax...but yeah, absolutely

Yeah - at least Hopkins has just DI Lax... Ivies are MUCH worse

True. I still think it's lame to have ONLY one though.

Yeah only one but it's arguably the best at the sport. And if you're brother didn't know what lacrosse was then I'm sorry you live somewhere that doesn't know about lacrosse, it's a great sport. Or sorry if you're brother is an idiot.

Of course he knows. The point is that it took a backseat in his mind to basketball, football, etc. And I think you'll admit that the average Joe relates more to those as opposed to lax. It would be nice not to have to explain to every 3rd person that it's just as hot.

On the other hand, we are the BEST at something, so in my mind who needs more. We won the title for gods sake, while i'm here. Thats something to remember!
