I was looking at some posts and people were writing 8 classes! At my school we have 6- 7 if you want to take zero hour at 6 o'clock in the morning =(. I was wondering why some people were able to take like 10+ AP's... Am I the only one with this disadvantage?

Nah of course not. I have 7 classes, excluding lunch.

Our school only has 6 unless you want to take PE or Jazz Band at 6 in the morning. I really wish my school had block periods where you learn 4 subjects for one semester and then another 4 for the other semester. It seems like you get to learn a lot more in the same amount of time when the school does it that way. I guess that's what I get for living in the stae of Washington though:(

By the way Promise, your school sounds like mine. Where do u go to school? I go to school in one of the suburbs of Seattle.

Whoa that's strange- 1) I live in washington too! 2) And we just had a debate about whether or not we could consider Bremerton (where I live) a suburb of seattle.

Yeah well I'm glad at least two people can only take 6. I'm so jealous of you guys that get to learn more and take all the electives you want. :p

we have 7 (45 minutes - the last 2 are 40 though for some reason). 7 day rotation so we don't have the same class at the same time.

7 classes not including lunch. recently our school policy was change to make all 7 periods required for all students unless you have a college release

8 .... 4 90 minute periods each day...alternating between periods 1-4 on one day, and 5-8 on the other.

at my school everyone has 5 one-hour periods, and the 11th/12th graders have some 6th period classes. i think it's 2 or 3 in an 8-day cycle. everyone takes the ib diploma, though, so it's pretty rigorous despite the relatively short days.

edit: we do take more than 5/6 classes. it's a rotating schedule, so we actually take 6 ib classes, theory of knowledge, and one elective. there are also free periods involved somewhere. (i'm a sophomore and don't have any experience with this particular aspect.)

7 day rotation? That's odd, I've never heard of that.
what time does your guy's school start end at if you have 6+ classes?

Mine we go to 7:50-2:37 with 6 classes, and one required studyhall.
1hrish monday-friday

8:15 - 3:10

thisyearsgirl--your schedule seems confusing. =

yall just dont know what you have: 8:15 - 3:10!! You wake up later than us and get to take another class.

it seems confusing, but it makes sense once you get used to it. the reason we have a rotating schedule is to fit all the classes in without having 10-hour school days. ;)

by the way, this is 8:15 to 2:50/3:55 (depending on whether you have sixth period).

My Classes start 7:45~3:05

Same as Matt up there, max is 8 classes, plus one night class (TOK for IB students) and then EPIC-Medical Careers.

So if you look at it in full, (as in a over a two-day, 1-4, 5-8) I have 10 classes, 2 of them being only once a week. (EPIC and TOK)

Oh, lol, I see! Some of your class schedules are like ours on test days- half now, half later.

I tried searching for this- but what are IB classes? Are the like AP classes?

Aww I'm sorry promise. I thought everyone had either block scheduling or 7 classes. Maybe you can petition for more.. academic oppurtunities? :)

ib stands for international baccalaureate. it's more or less equivalent to ap in terms of difficulty (i think? i don't have experience with ap), but it's an actual coherent two-year program. there's more information here if you're interested.

Yeah I think IB classes are honor classes with the same rigor as AP classes? I wouldn't know, our school doesn't offer those. And our school only offers 8 APs. Compared to some people on here, that isn't a lot.

I take 6 classes plus jazz band at 6:30. Ugh. I live in a seattle suburb too.

Our school has 4 periods, each consisting of approximately 80-90 minutes. Ugh.
