What I can do to improve my chances of getting into universities such as Michigan and GA Tech?

Physics Club (9-present, vice president)
Academic Challenge (9-present, captain)
Key Club (10-present)
Doing some research with physics teacher and several other students, we hope to have something published soon.
Will participate in QuarkNet 2014 at Rutgers University where we analyze data from the LHC for 2 weeks. </p>

<p>Other:
I've worked as a tutor the past year.
I'm getting letters of recommendation from three of my teachers who like me a lot and all have PhDs.<br>
I am going to get more community service hours over the summer, I have about 30 currently and my goal is to get ~150.
Participated in Moody's Mega Math Challenge where we stay in a room for 14 hours solving a real-world math problem. </p>

Currently you weakest link is your SAT score. You are just above the 25%. It seems you want to study engineering. If so, your score is too low for UMich particularly for oos.</p>

<p>Your SAT is holding you back. Your academics are good, EC’s are pretty good but also pretty generic. I agree that your SAT score is too low right now to get into U Michigan OOS, but I think you will get accepted to Georgia Tech.</p>

<p>For those 2 schools, I think you are fine academically. Your SATs are probably OK for Gatech and even UMich. Higher scores would help your odds though.</p>
