<p>OP, just FYI, this is almost always listed under the top essay topics that adcomms hate. I'm dead serious. Go pick up any guide to writing college essays and there are a few categories of essays that are so stereotypical that some admissions officers won't even read them.</p>
<p>Now, granted, a Dickensian writer could make any topic gold, but if you don't consider yourself God's gift to literature, I would pick a different topic.</p>
