I just had this crazy idea. What do you think?
Why waste your time-- and theirs-- on a school that doesn’t have your major, doesn’t fit into your budget or simply isn’t a good fit for you?
Do any of these schools appeal to you? Do they have your potential major? Can you see yourself living there for 4 years? Have you run the Net Price Calculator to ensure that all the schools are affordable?
That is before even talking about the amount of time filling out applications. Not all colleges use the Common App. And many may have supplementary essays.
Also, while the application may be free, sending test scores is not.
I think you need a better strategy than throwing darts at a dartboard.
Crossposted with @bjkmom. Similar minds.
My D1 applied to only one school with free application by invitation. It has great ChemE, affordable cost, and no essay required. You only save around $80, but you need to invest your time on it. If it is a school that you will not attend at the end, why waste your time.
I think you will have wasted a lot of time.
I think you will have wasted a lot of other people’s time.
Aren’t you a sophomore in HS in Greece?
Why are you thinking about applying to colleges now?
Why would you apply to colleges that don’t meet the parameters of what you want to study, what you can afford etc.? Why would you want to waste people’s time and energy just because an application is free?
This thought process is immature. It shows you are not yet ready to study at a college level, especially in a foreign country.
Common app allows 20 total.
Cappex actually encourages you to apply to all.
Obviously you need to be able to complete each supplement well.
Waste of time. You will only end up at one school anyway.
Guys you are right. Just a process is immature. I would do something like that anyway. It just crossed my mind.
On that note, closing thread. Nothing more to say.
