I live in the Middle East and can't really afford to go all the way to Los Angeles for just an interview for a scholarship that I might not even get. Does anyone know if that is the only option, or do they do phone interviews or such as well since I'm an international student?

hi
where are you from?
I am international too, just curious:)

I'm from Dubai =)

There are plenty of students who can come who would be happy to enjoy that scholarship.

On the USC Scholarship page for Trustee and Presidential, it says, "An interview is required for finalist candidates."

I remember reading this question before but I can't find/link an answer. I do remember their reason was that besides the fact that the interview is a very important part of the selection process, they want the student to see the campus to make sure it is a good fit.

I'd contact the scholarship department to see if they can make any exceptions (phone interview?) Let us know.

Good luck.

I'm almost positive they make exceptions. Call them up and ask for a phone or skype interview so they know you are serious about USC.

Yeah, thanks for the advice. I called them up and they said a phone interview can be scheduled. Thanks! :)
