What if i do 40 practice tests

hey i am planning to do like 30-40 practice tests (10 of CC ,10 from PR,5 from Mcgraw hill etc) i will do 2 practice tests each day and review everything

so will it help me and my score is 1800 what do u think by how much will it improve?

PS:i can do them if i set my mind ....i knw i am askin alot frm myself but i will study this month till nov 1

Focus on quality, not quantity.

If you take a million tests and don't review them, it'll be the same as not taking any. Instead, do all the test from the BB and try to understand each question and know why you got it right or wrong. Also, taking tests that weren't written by the Collegeboard isn't really the smart thing to do.

I do recommend using the tips from PR and Mcgraw hill, but not the tests.

don't use mcgraw hill's tests (not realistic at all) and use PR only when you run out of CB tests

no i will review every Q so wat do u think how much will my score improve

I think you'll get a 2400 if you did that. Thats spending over 5 days straight all doing SAT practice tests

lol..... thats ssome kind of good encouargemnt.....

so i think i would like to follow that plan wat do all of u say?

Doing 40 practice tests will cause you to be burnt out by the time you take the 41st test (the real one) and you'll struggle to concentrate on the insanely boring passages about medieval basket-weaving, and you'll get a poor score.

so i shuld jsut take 10 ?

Yeah. Not more.

Also, don't jump right to the practice tests. Read through some prep books and learn any material you might be missing and some testing strategies. You just have to realize that the questions on the SAT aren't hard, they're just written in a way that keeps you from finding the answer easily. So, spend some time reading through prep books and then take your practice tests. It's what I did, and my score rose by about 300 points in a little over two months.

dude, 40 tests?

That's a total of 6 days and 16 hours of testing.

if you spend half the time you spent to take the test figuring out the questions you got wrong, that's another 3 days and 8 hours.

--> 10 days straight

Over how much time do you plan on spreading this out?

if u have lots of time, u can use PR for experiment, then get into blue book, then online course, then QAS, do everything on sections/pieces, no need whole sitting,, use some QAS for testing at the end `~ dump away others, dont look at PR again when u start blue book... PR is just to warm u up

dude..if u do that..you're probably gonna reach that 2400...its hard..but it seems you're really motivated

What are you talking about?
I've taken 30+ and my score improved a meager 320 points. -_-

Practice won't do you any good unless you know what you are doing.

a 1800 means you have a long way to go.

First off, taking it by November is possible, but you won't get much out from it. believe me.

Secondly, if you were to simulate all the testing procedures blah blah blah, your brain would be so fried it won't function on the real test.

Third, only take CB tests. If you run out of practice tests, find QAS or use the practice tests from the online course.

You won't accomplish a single thing.

but there is no way you'll do it.

If you have the discipline to do 40 tests, it will improve your score.

I had to improve my writing so I did around 20 writing tests. It helped me A LOT on the multiple choice. I think the most important thing is to go over your tests and the end and review what you missed. From my experience I can only tell you it'll help a lot with writing. Not sure about reading and math.

i don't know about you, but i'm burnt after doing one practice test. those reading comprehensions really wear on you...

yeah the reading comp ones are hard to do in a row. but if your writing score is low practice is the best thing to do. it really helped me. plus. i used PR and it helped. so much.

Thank for the overwhelming response i am thankful to all of you and this forum

so well after reading i have thought of doin only 25 or 20 tests with quality :-)

the most frustrating thing is that i am from india and well i dont have strong grammar base and i suck at writing section and i really dont knw wat to do for it in so few days others say that writing section is the most improvable and easiest to improve but for me it is the opposite
