Your score will improve, but not to 2400. You miss one question on the math section and it's a 780.

It depends on the curve o_o

Sounds like a silly idea. Practice tests are for familiarity with the test and strategy planning. Not much else.

Should I really go over the right answers too...it seems so pointless

^ We're supposed to, but it will be sooooooo arduous and boring.

What I do is circle questions I want to review at the end. Then I review those + any I get wrong. Rarely do I review questions I got right.

Also, 40 practice tests sounds like a complete waste of time.

While I do believe studying for the SAT and practicing can improve one's score...there IS an element of innate intelligence in it as well...and there is no way an 1800 will EVER reach a 2400 except by a freak chance.

Just 40? Dude, if you want to get that 2400, you have to do it 2400 times.

don't mock the guy.....he is distressed....the pain of failure can't be delineated....good luck bro.....just do the cb test with ur head,nt wid ur gut....that will take u to a 2200,i hope

Yeah, just do the BB and QAS, and you'll do great! :)

Buy the BB and work on all of the tests from there. Don't bother with most of the tests from other publishers, they won't be as accurate.

What does that mean?

just FYI, an increase from 1800 to 2400 is a 600 point increase, in other words +50%.

Shoot for 2000+, more than doable if you do the whole blue book and review everything. good luck :)

cut out the free 600 pts and it's an increase from 1200 to 1800....67% increase

it actually is possible to get a 2400 by doing that, though only by reviewing what u get wrong n all...

You the point is your not gonna get a 2400 from doing that. If you are only at an 1800 now, chances are you will NEVER come anywhere near a 2400. Aim for 2000 or even 2100 if you are feeling brave. The absolute max I can imagine anyone doing is a 2200 in your situation.

i would agree with nena. you could take 100 practice tests but if u aren't understanding the material or what you get wrong, then you score wont improve much. just take a couple, then review your mistakes and study common errors u think u make. go for quality testing.

Correct me if I'm wrong ChoklitRain but 1200 to 1800 is a 50% increase, when the free points are removed :P

^ sorry, i was assuming the first post I saw was correct and adding 17% to 50%. 1800 to 2400 is a 33% increase, 1200 to 1800 is a 50% increase.

well i knw 2400 is unachievable well to the most i want 2100 and i hope i get it by this method:

in a day i will do writing section technique u knw it vs it's , comma splice etc.
(there are like 15 chapters in mc graw hill for grammar thingys i will do 2 each day)

then i will do 2 practice test along with those 2 chapter if i cant manage to do all this i will atleast do one each day

PS:i have to all this coz my SAT score will only be 1800 and i want to goto any UC to do engg. thats my only priority.I dunno if i will get in provided i am national(India) gold medalist in martial arts
