What if I do more worst on the second placement exam vs the first?

Ok, So I just retook the placement exam because I did not get placed into what I was hoping to get place into [I got placed into Pre-Calculus, But wanted Calculus due to my major]. So I retook it, and it was COMPLETELY different from the Accuplanner test that I was expecting to re-take and studied for [ I mean like SCARY different, there was not one graph, function, or the many other things I studied for on it, just ALLOT of decimal arithmetic, which I skipped on the Accuplaner]. So say, in the situation that I do get placed lower then Pre-Calc. will I have to enroll in the lower class, and be prohibited from taking Pre-Calc. [Which was what I got placed into earlier]? Or will they just place me in Pre-Calc.?

I’m not sure but perhaps they’ll let you use your highest score.

I hope not, I mean the test was COMPLETELY different from the Accuplanner, 1. It wasn’t multiple choice 2. We had NO calculator, but on the Accuplanner we where able to use a very basic one for some questions, 3. There was practically NO graphing, geometry, or Higher level Algebra question, and 4. I was expecting to take the ACCUPLANER! That what I studied for, not this! I really hope they don’t place me lower…

Can any body else give me some insight on this? I really want to know the answer…? :/

Doubt it will, did you take the math advancement test(final from spring semester precal). Most likely it was 2 parts. If that, i’m pretty sure it wont affect you cause its made to see if you can handle Precal

No I did not, As I said it was a basic placement test, that I retook to see if I can get placed higher then pre-calc [Some people got placed into Intermediate Algebra, others in different math courses]. This test was completely then the on I took on the computer the 1st time. I just hope if I did worst on this one!?!?

Bbbuummpp!!

You’re gonna be in algebra…

LOL you’ll be in precalc at least

Or you can take PreCalc at a CC. They’ll have to place you in Calc then, b/c its a course with credits.

And what’s Accuplanner? I know I have to retake my test b/c for some strange reason I got placed into places I didn’t want to be in. I know that you have to take the Pre Calc final though, which I’m gonna study for a madman.
