Lets say I apply to med school and I do not get into any of them which is a real possibility. I need to setup a back up plan just in case. Is there any secondary career paths I could set myself up whilst pursuing a dream to go to med school. I am currently a first semester sophomore so I do have some time but right now I have nothing really to add on a resume or anything.
So all in all is there any alternative career paths I could apply to just in case I do not get into med school, and what can I do now to start beefing up my resume?

Major? Special skills? Interests? Hobbies? Do you want to stay in the healthcare area? Or are you willing to move into something else? Are you willing to go to grad school?

Lots of alternatves to med school, but it depends on you and your interests/skills/aptitudes.

Both my kiddos had a Plan B and Plan C. One would have applied to MS/PhD health physics programs; the other will apply for a MS/MPH in biostats and eventually a PhD in epidemiology.

My major is going to be biology. I would like to stay in the healthcare. I live in a big city and would like to stay here. I am open to going to grad school.
Nothing really special that I am good at. My life right now is just school and friends really…

Healthcare-related jobs (most will required additional training or certification): paramedic; clinical study manager; case manager (insurance companies or social service agencies); medical equipment or pharmaceutical sales; medical librarian; respiratory therapist; X-ray technician; surgical technician; anesthesia assistant; audiologist; physician assistant; cardio-vascular technician; medical sonographer; medical records manager; radiation therapist; optometrist; podiatrist; occupational therapist; physical therapist.

not been there, but seems there are many who build some skills for a year and try again! A guy in one of my dr’s offices is doing just that. including a retake on the mcat. but, this really rephrases your title to include “(yet)”! Good luck!!
