What if I don't take the AWPE/MAE before the Fall term?

So I got the AWPE letter in the mail a month ago and I won’t be able to take the AWPE on the day they told me to take. I was wondering what happens if I don’t take it before the school year starts.

And for the MAE…can I take the MAE during the school year?

I did look up some past discussions about the topic, but the discussions I read were from like 6 years ago. I am worried that the policies might have changed.
