<p>I sent in two teacher recs for schools that only require one. Will they only look at one, or what? Will they throw out my app for not following directions? I just assumed every school needed two.</p>

<p>And you should stop having the idea that college admission officers have cold icy hearts that take pleasure in burning applications that didn't follow the rules.</p>
<p>they'll never look down on your for sending something extra...now, when you send five+ letters/recs/essays/whatever, then they start to see you as desperate, which isnt always good...</p>
<p>one teacher rec wont kill you, it'll make you stand out a bit =) in a good way...if they dont want it, they'll just throw it away, no biggie</p>
<p>They may, and many are likely to, ignore recs in addition to those required, but they are not going to skewer you for submitting two. Also, be aware generally that most colleges, particularly state colleges, actually require no recommendations.</p>
