What if I took the AP class, but not the exam?

Hey guys,

I am currently a sophomore in 6 AP classes (Bio, Macro, Gov, Spanish, USH, and Stats), and I will be taking the exams for all but one of them (AP Gov). The class for it is online and it is absolutely atrocious; it is extremely boring and consists of tedious assignments that ask you to research to learn anything related to Gov. I hate it, and I chose not to take the AP exam because Gov has nothing to do with my future major which I am resolute on. Furthermore, I really haven’t learned anything that will allow me to score high. I was researching this situation, and I found that colleges think it looks really bad not to go through with the exam. However, does my situation make it any different?

Thanks!

It does look bad. It makes it look like you just want the gpa bump.

Unfortunately, universities will not know the circumstance of why you didn’t take the ap exam, they just know that you didn’t take it.
