What if I'm not "fit" for the majors I selected?

I applied to the UC’s in the fall for some pretty impacted majors - Comp Sci/Bioengineering.

I know that UCSD still accepts students as UNDECLARED after finding the applicant not fit for the major(s) s/he selected. Is this true for the other UC’s as well?

Thank you!

UCSB will also accept you as Undeclared in you do not make it into the CS/BioEngineering major, unless you noted an alternate major. Both my son’s had classmates that applied to ME and were accepted as Undeclared. A word of caution however; both were unable to transfer into the ME major due to limited seats. If you do get accepted as Undeclared, you need to be willing to possibly not get into your first choice major.
