What if my efc is higher than the coa?

Will I still be eligible for the parent plus loan? What about the federal subsidized/unsubsidized loans for students?

Student will be eligible for unsubsidized stafford loan.
You will be eligible for plus loan up to coa.

See [Direct Loans?Parent PLUS Information](http://www.direct.ed.gov/parent.html)

Your PARENTS may be eligible to take out a Plus Loan if they are willing and they qualify. It will be THEIR loan. IT will be their responsibility to pay back.

What are your parents saying?

Yeah, I meant would my parents be eligible.

When they say that demonstrated financial need is required, doesn’t that mean that the efc should be lower than the coa?

You can borrow money to pay your EFC.
However the total of the educational loans cannot exceed COA.
And yes, your parents will be liable for the Plus loans.
