what if my school doesnt giVe class rank or gpa

how will colleges evaluate me? Im from Canada and here gpa /class rank are not provided

I'm living in Canada as well... I get a GPA how could you not have a GPA?? how are you supposed to tell whether you're doing well or not?? As for class rank, it differs from school to school. My school ranks but does not disclose this information to its students, only the person who is ranked 1st is disclosed.

well i mean we get marks for each class as a percentage out of 100 as well as a letter grade (85.5 and over is an A)...I could calculate it myself with a 4.0 being an A, but that doesn't tell colleges much..

i am in a us school and our school does not calculate rank or gpa either. however, since colleges get a lot of applicants from our school and know that a 3.5 from mine is not the same as a 3.5 from "easier" schools. they estimate our rank or how we "rack up" to other people in our grade, from past applicants (although i dont completely get how this works because for example, a majority of the people who have bothered to apply to harvard from my school have been top 5%). im not sure exactly what they would do if you go to a school where very few people apply to american schools or that particular school; but they will still figure out your GPA on their own, and try to find out the reputation of your school, probably, to see if they inflate or deflate extraordinarily or anything like that.

anyways, i dont know exactly how it works and im sure its different at ifferent schools but no worries, they deal with this a lot and have their ways. additionally, your guidance counselor should write a note explaining your school does not give rank/gpa

YOur overall average out of 100 is your GPA.

I'm in IB..do the predicted marks serve as a sort of GPA?
