Hypothetically speaking, what would be the most prestigious school that would accept that person?

UC’s love stats. Can’t speak for other schools that don’t care too much about EC’s though.

You mean this person was a grind and did nothing but study? Or has ‘no ECs’ in that their extracurricular activities involved working to support their family, a passionate involvement in a hobby, or some other non-traditional way of being engaged in the world?

Just imagine that Commonapp EC essay…

CalTech may accept them, if they were very math and science inclined. CalTech is very meritocratic in their admissions, unlike other T20 schools which can very subjective.

It seems like mostly Ivies are concerned with ECs . Many schools would want them .

I have a similar question… are there any top schools that are known to place a lot of weight on the SAT? It’s not that I have no EC’s, but I think my SATs are probably one of the strongest parts of my app, so I was just wondering if there were any schools that cared more about the SAT.

“What if someone had perfect SATs and was top in his or her class but had no ECs…” - Even with ECs, many of the tippy top schools are a maybe with perfect stats. It does seem like a notch down from there perfect scores would open a lot of doors.

The important thing is finding the right fit. Good luck!

You could probably get into any school with relative ease outside of the top 10-15.

Don’t think that this is about me! I am almost the opposite, given my opportunities for ECs.

They would get into a top school, just probably not Harvard.
