I want to major in Actuarial Science, but that isn't a listed major. Is there anyway to make a major? And has anyone had a good experience doing that?

Go to Purdue.

majoring in actuarial science isn’t necessary to becoming an actuary. all of the necessary courses you will need to complete in order to take the actuarial exams are offered at iu. e-mail the math department for more information.

Okay thank you. What would you recommend as an alternative major?

Have you been to this site?

[Department of Mathematics: Indiana University Bloomington](http://www.math.indiana.edu/undergraduate/actuary.phtml)

Took this from a post in the Business School forum:

Suggested major/minor combinations for aspiring actuaries-

Econ major/math or stats minor

Thanks for the website! And okay I will look into those combinations.
