I know colleges base their acceptances on if one can succeed in the college or not...and I just can't help wondering for colleges like HYPS....I imagine I want to go to these schools really badly, but on the flipside, what if I don't perform well and completely fall apart due to pressure of greatness?

Does anyone else have this fear? It's happen to me once (middle school to medical magnet high school), I don't know if I could handle it again.

[raises hand] I do! I do! :] Don't worry, I'll be there to comfort you. Just have confidence in yourself and think that you can do better next time. ^__^ That's all. =] Just me you can definately handle it. xP

the hardest part about schools like HYPS is GETTING IN. The average gpa at a school like harvard is about an A-, and according to the Boston Globe article about grade inflation 91% of the harvard kids graduated with honors!!

Well...I mean I've always heard that, but seriously, when you've got kids like that are Siemens, National Merit and stuff, you expect it to be high.

Don't worry, just worrying about academics means you are at least savable :) The kids that don't think about such things/don't care are the ones who are in trouble.

Just try hard and talk to your professors. I have a 3.8 at college and I haven't even tried that much (I partied and had fun). Practice time management and good work ethic and you will definitely be fine. You'll probably find kids who are much less worried and concerned about academics than you and they might not be willing to put in the dedication that I believe you will.

Good luck and I'm sure you'll do fine :)

thank you :-) I needed that
