what if you do not do well on the test?

My son wants to take the sat subject test this june in Biology. He is a freshman in high school. I think it is great that he wants to take the test. He plans on going to a SUNY school in New York. As to my knowledge, they to not require nor look at the SAT subject tests. He may want to go to Bing, Albany, Buffalo, or Geneseo for Business.

My question is simply this. What happens if he does not do that great on the test? Are these scores automatically apart of the public record if you will?? I do not want him to be a hero and have a poor score go against him.

If he has to physically send them to the school then fine, however, if not, is it worth the risk?? I know it is early, but I do not see him going to an ivy league school or a U CHICAGO, so is it worth it? He is a 92-93 student but it is only the end of his freshman year.

Again, I want him to take the test if can only help him, but not hurt him. Thanks in advance!!
