what if you do not qualify for TAG until after your application is sent?

what if you do not qualify for TAG until after your application is sent? I got a D in stats class in the spring 10' but I'm making up for it now in the fall. I already sent in my application and it says D but it shows that I am making up for it. My gpa will qualify after this semester. i have a 2.75 rigt now and i plan on itgoing up and also replacing my D this fall semester. will itbe too late to go under tag if its not seen by the application date?

Are you applying for fall? If so, You can’t turn in the application for fall 11’ until November 1. I believe the deadline for Tag is September 30.

If you are applying to UCSD You need to have a achieved a GPA of 3.0 or better by the end of the fall semester and maintain it by the end of spring 2011. You should be fine if you do well in your classes.

good luck!

so for TAG, i need atleast a 3.2 average to qualify at ucsb. the application for TAG is sep 1-30. I just want to know if they decline menow but I qualify at the end of this fall semester, will they go back and see that i DO qualify to TAG and then let me in? thank youu

you need to have earned of a minimum GPA of 3.20 by the end of the fall semester. As said , do well in your classes and you will be fine

even if you get your tag denied, you can still apply during the november application period and still get in that way

is it hard to get in UCSB with a 3.0 ish gpa? i have some decent work experience and im going in as econ and accounting.

I think UCSB is harder to get in than UCSD or UCI.

In my opinion it is like this:
UCLA=UCB>UCSB>UCSD>UCI>UCR

I know there are a few more like UCD and UCM or UCSF but I am not familiar with them.

but then it is depend on your major.

I

what will they do if you need a 3.0 for instance in UCSC but i have a 2.96 which if you round it is a 3.0. do you think my tag will be rejected?

@eablinksum, no school will round up your GPA if they do then anyone who get 3.99 would get 4.00. Even if you get 2.99, that is your GPA no matter what.
I am pretty lucky that I have exactly 3.00 GPA.

admit rate
UCSD: 61.3
UCI: 64.3
UCSB: 68.8
UCD: 70.9

[University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/library/tables/table_87.aspx)
average admit GPA
UCSD: 3.53
UCD: 3.45
UCI: 3.43
UCSB: 3.40

based on those stats, I’d say that UCSB is overall the easiest of those to get into albeit not by a ton.

You NEE a 3.0 GPA in order to qualify for a TAG at the TIME of application. So you wouldn’t qualify for a TAG even if your GPA rises above the 3.0 GPA by the end of this Fall. The TAG agreement in approved by Nov 15th meaning they will not get to see your Fall grades by then!! The school that you’re applying to though WILL see your GPA after Fall though without the TAG.

where does it say you need a 3.0 gpa to qualify for TAG? Because on the UCSB tag agreement it says you need a 3.2 by the end of fall '10 semester. nothing about having atleast a 3.0 when applying.

http://www.admissions.ucsb.edu/pdf/UCSB%20Fall%202011-12%20TAG.pdf</a></p>

I think she meant for UCSD, which does require the 3.0. UCSB needs 3.20, they raised it because they were getting too many applicants around the 3.0 mark and couldn’t ensure space for all TAGers at 3.0.

UCSD wants you’re Fall grades as well. my transfer councilor told me i can still qualify for UCSD tag with a 2.96 gpa and in the end of fall they would want me to update my grades and i will qualify.
