I just came to U.S. about 3 years ago, so I have troubles with English. I still manage to be the #1 student of my school right now with the weigted GPA of 4.54. However, my SAT scores are very bad, compared to all the scores I see in here. Does the admission committees care about how long I have been in US or they just care about how good one is? Thanks

Yes, we take into account how long you have been in the US. Being #1 in this situation is pretty impressive.

Thanks. Here are more of my stats
SATI: 710m/590w/540v
SATII: 760m/650chem/650bio
Have been taking 11 AP's
Already took 5 College Classes at night at a Community Collge
Planning to finish Differential Equation and Linear Algebra before going to college.
Math is my passion...:)
Can u tell me my chances?

did you take toefl?

No, I didn't. Does the TOEFL help?

It would probably be required, to quantitatively judge your English proficiency, I'd imagine...

Being 1st in your class is very impressive, but I'm afraid that your test scores are really going to hurt you. If math is your passion, admissions officers will be surprised to see 710/760 SAT/SAT II math scores, especially the SAT II - most Caltech admits have 800, even those who aren't focused on math.

If you can, try to retake the SAT IIs and score higher. New English speakers usually use these to prove their ability to do high-level math and science despite low SATs. Although I'm saying this a bit late in the process, stellar recommendations are critical. Finally, find the best English speakers you know to help with your essays.
