What if you reside on LP campus but have classes on Loop campus

Trying to get a feel for the DePaul multi-campus layout. Daughter is interested in the College of Communication and also the Honors Program, including living in Seton Hall. However it looks like Communications is on the Loop campus but Seton and most of the other residence halls are on the LP campus.

How do students who live on the LP campus commute to their classes on the Loop campus? Car, trains, buses, or is there any kind of shuttle? What’s the average travel time?

Many thanks in advance. We’ve not visited DePaul yet, but hope to do so soon.

My family and I visited DePaul last summer. The way DePaul’s campuses work, so I was told, is that anything that can be done at one can be done at the other. So, if you reside at Lincoln Park campus, but have all of your classes at the Loop campuses, you don’t have to worry about going back to Lincoln Park in between classes to have lunch or run errands.

This being said, just because your major is housed at the Loop doesn’t mean all of your classes will be. As most gen eds take place at the Lincoln Park campus, she’ll probably be going back and forth between both campuses, at least during her first year or two. Because of this she’ll the option of choosing which campus she wants to be at.

DePaul gives each student a pass that allows the student unlimited train rides and bus rides. (Definitely one of my favorite parts about the school.) I can’t remember how long it took to ride the train from Lincoln Park to the Loop, but I think it was around 20 minutes.

Love DePaul, definitely my favorite school out of all the ones we’ve visited. Highly recommend.

Very helpful, thank you!
