What if your CC is missing some transfer classes for a certain major?

I'm wondering what happens when the CC we attend doesn't offer a couple prereq's we may need for our intended major.

In the UCLA website, it says "all preparatory courses must be completed prior to transferring"

So what would someone do in this situation?

It’s out of your control, so unless you go to another cc that offers that course I don’t think you should worry about it. UCLA will probably tell you to take it at UCLA when you transfer. Call them just to make sure though.

If you can take it at another community college I would recommend you do that. Especially for heavily impacted majors, missing one prereq can be a deal breaker. Call UCLA, but, if at all possible try and finish everything.

But a large part of it is your major.

take that @ a different CC.
i had to take classes from 3 different CC’s to meet all of my requirements.

well you have no control over your school not offering those courses, so it wont be counted against you. But it can be a deal breaker when they look at your application. So my advice- see if any other cc’s close by are offering any of them and try to take them there. I went all the way to Santa monica college to fulfill the missing pre-reqs. And also, I would rather take those classes at a cc cus you have a higher chance of getting a better grade; whereas, taking the same class at a UC would be a lot harder. You can just focus on the upper division and your major once u get there. Good luck!

Okay so it states in the Transfer Admission Guide that six preparatory classes must be completed before transferring and there is a total of 11 preparatory classes listed.

So I should be good if I complete six?

^what is your major?
