I submitted my Umich app by early response deadline, i even checked with them with a phone call, and yet on W.A site, it's still only credentials and application data link, there aren't any changes to it, what's going on? please anyone help I'm panicking.

same thing here man.
and I haven’t gotten any mail yet either. I talked to someone on wednesday and they said that they havent even sent me a letter yet.
Im kinda ****ed.

the same…

is it true that they only send deferral and rejection decision through mail and don’t change the status online?
hope not…

SAME THING HERE
Hope that they are not going to sd mail only…
I am an international applicant…It will stronly affect my overseas study plan if I dont get a decison from Umich by 1 Jan…

I’m pretty sure if you’ve not heard by now, and you’ve not gotten an email that you were accepted, you have been deferred.

I was accepted at 10 AM today last year

^^Following with what QwertyKey said, applicants who do not have any updates on WA by now are not in a good position. UofM has not sent out any acceptance letters, without notification by WA or e-mail first. I know, it sucks hearing that, but there is a great chance of receiving the “good” deferral letter. Deferral letters in general don’t sound so exciting, however, this letter indicates that you are qualified for UM, but they aren’t sure if they should accept you over someone of similar stats.

Oh wow, I thought all ER would have heard back by now. I could only assume anyone who hasn’t heard back was deferred.

ohhhh that means I probably got deferred.
Does anyone think that one can send in third quarter grades? I mean my semester grade was a 3.0, which is like my cumulative. Lets just say I never really “worked” hard. but if my third quarter grade jumps to like a 3.75 and over is it possible to send those in?

Well either your 1st semester is ending in Jan, or something like a tri-semester. University of Michigan would like to see those grades.

Don’t they tell you on WA that you are deferred? I thought the only status they don’t announce on WA is rejection.

Yeah exactly my point, even if we were deffered shouldn’t they notify us that we actually have been deffered? or is it that applicants that has been deffered has to go through the snail mail process

You’ll get a letter, don’t worry. They guarantee a decision by the 24th, not that you’ll know it. I’m sure there’s a slew of letters ad-hoc right now.

Well typically the good deferrels that do not ask for your 7th semester grades because statistically you could be admitted at anytime from now to April. The bad deferrels will ask for 7th semester grades. Since UM-Ann Arbor does not reject ER, its safe to say that if they asked for your 7th semester grades you were unqualified and likely would have been rejected if you only applied RD ( as RD they could not request 7th semester).

Oh yeah, this is coming from someone who was also deferred with 7th semester notified on WA.

ugh…it feels like im sitting on a pool of acid, I’ve been waiting for the decision link to pop up for so long, and now it seems to be coming through snail mail…hope it’s the good version of defferals basing on what Coolbrezze said. Oh and does having your close relative attending Umich help your actual admission? because my brothers actually in Umich.

Legacy plays a big role in many colleges, and I’m sure it does with U-Michigan. I live half way around the world and people in the US haven’t even received their mail. I think I’ll get the deferral letter the same time I get the acceptance or rejected letter in April hahaha

This is truly ridiculous… I have religiously checked WA since the beginning of December and still don’t have a decision. I’m actually getting really angry about it. I’m going away for a week so I won’t know until the new year… great

I’m in same boat as you guys. Applied to kines 10/28, all transcripts & tests sent on time. First they lost my docs internally. Then when I proved they were sent & received they acknowledged their mistake, said I was ER. I’ve called twice and my mom called earlier this week, they said I WAS ER and they would notify me this week, but I haven’t heard squat.

I guess they deferred me to kines with a 33 ACT, 3.5 UGPA., 3.9 WGPA, and SAT IIs of 740 and 800. I know I’m OOS, but still–I can’t help it, I’m starting to get a little ticked.

^ If you have not heard back yet, or there are no updates on WA, then you have been deferred. Originally, WA was updated to include all decisions, whether it be a deferral or acceptance. Starting within the last two-three weeks, with regards to a high volume of applications, UM began to only update WA if it were an acceptance. This information was confirmed through a phone call to an admission counselor.

nmcm007 is that really true? if so oh no… so Im definitely deferred…than about the semester grade, if I dont have any notification on W.A about sending in my semester grade does that mean it’s the good deferrer? or is this a simple rumor?
