WHAT in the world is GREEK SYSTEM

us colleges keep talking about it, what is it actually... should i get into it?

Some colleges in the Unites States have fraternities and sororities, and some do not.
For colleges that do have a Greek system, you can look for more information about what is involved in terms of recruitment, costs, housing and activities by going to each college’s Panhellenic website.

yeah, but what are fraternities and sororities exactly…?

[Fraternities and sororities - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Fraternities and sororities - Wikipedia)

Hopefully that covers the basics for you.

fraternity is a brotherhood. a bunch of guys who get together. they’ll usually have a house “frat house” in which all the members live. the benefits of this are that u dont have to pay for ur own apartment if u get accepted into one. Cons are that they r notorious for partying and ur prob wont get as much studying done.
Sorority is the same thing but is a sisterhood.
there r lots of different fraternities and sororities to get involved in from literature/writing students to premed frats and engineering frats. but of course usually its all just to party and have fun. They are just social organizations of students are r somewhat recognized by the university. just youtube them and you’ll find lots of info.

Oh thanks for your views, so its better to stay away from it right?

Nope, no one is saying that. Pledging is an individual decision. It suits some while it doesn’t for others  You could always rush and see if you might enjoy it.
