Why am I still not accepted to Cal Poly Pomona but other students from my school got accepted? Don’t they release acceptance letters in late March and by April 1st? How come other students from my school got accepted so quickly but I didn’t? What makes them better than me? Most of them didn’t even pass the AP Calculus AB exam and they get accepted, is Cal Poly Pomona accepting uneducated slackers these days?

Cal Poly has always accepted uneducated slackers ;)

(I keed, I keed)

They notify their highest candidates and those eligible for the honors program early as the honors application deadline is in February for most CSU’s. It’s not something they advertise. My D was really surprised when the acceptance from the CSU she applied to came back in December.

If you are talking about friends getting in just the last week or so, then it might just be chance. Some of the schools notify in waves. Their name might have just popped up first.

Don’t get too angry and trash the school considering your acceptance is probably in the next batch or two lol.

Well, your SAT scores are below average. I think you wanted to be in EE? You’re like 200 points below average. I hope you had like a 3.7 GPA. It’s probably taking a while because you most likely aren’t getting in.

I doubt they applied for a STEM major. Most of the liberal arts majors at Cal Poly Pomona are pretty easy to get into. Some of the STEM majors are relatively easy to get into (such as math), but it’s hard to actually acquire the degree once you hit your junior/senior classes. People drop like flies…

I think it all really just depends!
My friend got accepted like super early, like around Dec 21.
She got like 1600 something on SAT, 3.6 GPA, good ECs.
I got accepted late January.
Just be patient, you’ll be notified during this month definitely :~)

Okay, I’ll be patient. Thanks for the help, though.
