A friend of mine told me that Med Schools will need to see your transcripts from high school and college. He also said that med schools look at how many AP classes you took in HS and how many of these credits you used in college. I really wanted to retake all my AP classes for easy A's in college, but if med schools will look down upon it i wont. i was wondering if anyone could answer these questions

Thanks for the help

They don't look at your high school transcript. They don't care how many AP classes you took in high school, and they care very little about what you did in high school unless it has carried on until now.

oh nice! so does this mean that my AP Calc, Eng, Math, Hist i can all retake for pre-med credit??!!

thanks

You can certainly re-take them and get through undergrad in fine order. The Med School Adcom will make their own assessment and most likely conclude that you did not challenge yourself adequately. Only 50% of med school applicants succeed at admissions. Adcoms are therefore known for their ability to be totally arbitrary in their rejections.

They DONT like to see that you used the credits. Most dont ask for that info anyway, or so ive read in Getting into Medical Schol Today (theres my resource, sakky). Some medical schools do ask for your high school transcript, but the majority apparently dont.
