And how long have you been playing?

I "play" piano. I started taking it last December on a whim, and I enjoyed it so much I decided to take lessons each week.

And how long have you been playing?

I "play" piano. I started taking it last December on a whim, and I enjoyed it so much I decided to take lessons each week.

Piano. All my books say something about an “intermediate” level, so I guess that’s what I’m at. I started taking lessons when I was nine, but I stopped when I was eleven and didn’t start again until I was thirteen. I didn’t have access to a piano at home during some of those years, and I don’t practice as much as I should even when I do have one.

I played the flute for 7 years (5th grade - 11th grade). I pretty much hated it though - so happy that I don’t have band senior year!

I’ve been playing cello since the age of six. I’ve had private lessons + youth orchestra.

Before that, I played violin. I can still “play” but at a very rudimentary level. After playing cello, it’s difficult.

I know how to play flute also. I played during middle school.

I can kind of play piano, but not really. Never learned formally, and can’t play any complex pieces.

I play the alto saxophone. I just started taking lessons, and have played at my school for all 2 years it has been offered (going on a 3rd.)

violin, but i majorly suck at it (it always freaked me out that the bow is made of horse hair LOL)

piano, but i majorly suck at that too

Self taught guitar, but I majorly suck just like clementines lol…

Altosaxophone, its fairly easy after the firstmonth, been playing for 5 years

I play trumpet

Clarinet, since the sixth grade (so, seven years). I haven’t been majorly into band since freshman year, but it’s still a hobby of mine.

I’ve been playing the clarinet since 5th grade, so I’m in my 6th year. I played the violin for 3 years. I’ve been playing the tenor sax since last December, and I play a little percussion. :p

VIOLIN! C:
I sort of wish I knew how to play the oboe though.

I’ve been taking double bass lessons through our school district since I was 8 with the same teacher throughout. By senior year, he will have been my instructor in some capacities for 10 years.

Piano, flute, and piccolo. Piano was my first instrument. (:

I kind of wish I learned a more obscure instrument at a younger age, though, like the oboe. High school flutists have literally no chance of securing a spot at youth orchestras (not local ones, the ones that rehearse in the city - CYS, NYYS, etc.) because of undergrads. /: I live in NY…I have to compete with flutists from Juilliard.

I used to play violin, but I had to quit starting this year cause of schedule issues. I still play it sometimes tho.

Trumpet for the last 8 years, piano for 7 though I didn’t take lessons for 3 of those years, and I taught myself guitar in 5 years ago. Progress comes in random spurts with guitar, but I’ve gotten good enough to play some decent riffs and fingerpicking.

Yeah, you should see all the band activities on my college resume. And one of my supp essays. Music is a big chunk of my life.

Clarinet since 4th grade !

Piano since I was 3!!!

i have been playing flute since 4th grade… so that is 6 years. i haven’t played beyond my school’s instrumental ensemble/ city band.

i play the piano… recreationally.

You all make me feel so inadequate lol

You’ve all been doing your instruments for years, and here I am with only a few months experience. wooooooooooooo
