<p>Im wondering what kinds of internships are available to people not in their junior/senior year in college. Can you get internships the summer between freshmen and softmore or between softmore and junior. By the way I was stunned to find out someone I know interned for Northrop Grumman this summer, and he isnt even in college yet. Its his summer before college.</p>
<p>If you got some major connections you can get anything in this world. If not, thne your best bet is junior/senior year. But sophmore/junior is not uncommon at all.</p>

<p>I interned at Northrop this summer, in between my sophomore and junior years of college. Most of the other interns at my facility were my age or a year older, but there are definitely no disadvantages to trying to seek out opportunities when you are younger.</p>
<p>Depends on your major of course. Sophomore EEs are pretty much useless for companies due to the very late start of core EE courses at most schools.</p>
