I need some inspiration to answer this question for my essay. It's a short answer (150 words), and I want it to be slightly unconventional, show personality and be memorable.

Anyone got any thing that would inspire me?

Currenltly I've written two different answers. One is about my favourite band and the human connection I feel to them. The other is about the city I grew up in and what makes it unique. I like the second one, but what i've written about why it is unique is generic as it can be applied to any big city ie. London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore

If you feel that your second choice is generic, you should try to add elements of personalization to it. Don’t write about why you think the city is special. Write about a particular thing in the city - an one event/experience - something as small as playing football in the parks that made the city special for you. Make the essay about yourself and how you impacted the city, even in the smallest way possible.

Your essay response has to be unique and original TO YOU. To capture this show how your favorite band has personally inspired you. I.e “… first started listening to band through (discovery)… my reaction was … since then I’ve (followed/continued) … one of their songs with lyrics … which has inspired me to …”

A city in which you’ve grown up is too generic (unless you want to become an architect) … A band might have inspired your interests in such and such academic fields as psychology, neurology and engineering many others.

Also, make sure to incorporate your anecdote to why you are passionate about given field of study.

i.e. psychology: want to learn about music on behavior OR
i.e. neurology: want to learn about music on brain OR
i.e. engineering: want to learn about music on technology

Don’t have full context; nonetheless, hope this helps!
