What is a "c.v."???

I asked my professor for a letter of recommendation, and this is what she wrote back:

"Yes, I can do this. A copy of your c.v. as well as the forms and where to send info would help."

Anyone know what a "c.v." is? I have no idea.

curriculum vitae

<a href="http://jobsearch.about.com/od/curriculumvitae/%5B/url%5D">http://jobsearch.about.com/od/curriculumvitae/</a></p>

It's similar to a resume. If you search online, you can find some examples. Your professor want to know more about you before she sends off a letter of recommendation.

Ah ok, thanks. I figured that it was something like a resume.

You get the answer if you go to the first link to the results of searching "c.v." on google.....

But you are just a beginning student. I think a resume will suffice. A C.V is like for someone applying to become a professor of a department at an institute.

yeah, that's what I gathered by looking at a few samples. It is all for listing professional work and publications...

Ah, Google is truly an underutilized resource...

The professor is probably so used to seeing and using CVs that she said "CV" when she wasn't necessarily thinking about a formal CV.
