ahh…the joys of learning Calculus from Spivak…totally unparalleled :D

Well, only if a school requires AB before BC. Or has a trig class or something. Encourages students to take stats.

This was my track:
7th grade: Alg I
8th grade: Geometry
9th grade: Alg II
10th grade: Pre Cal
11th grade: Calc BC
12th grade, college fall quarter: Multivariable
BC to MVC was actually a jump for me, since MVC had spherical coordinates and a lot more vectors than were in BC. I should have taken college Calc 3 before, but with my EC schedule, it was a sacrifice for me to even take college classes for one quarter.

Anyway, there are probably no prep books for MVC as it’s rarely offered in HS. American HS (like American undergrad education) is, for the most part, broad, not deep. Offering math as far as MVC in HS, which is somewhat specialized, is neither worthwhile nor in accordance with the aims of secondary education in this country.

MVC is great though and I really wish I had devoted a lot more time to the course when I took it. I encourage you to study it and not look for a prep book or other easy out.
