What is a good way to show UC Irvine that I am interested

So I was just looking at the common data set for UC Irvine, and under the freshman admissions section it lists “Level of applicant’s interest” as very important to the UCI admissions process. UCI is in my top 3 of colleges I would like to attend, and being that the other two are UCB and UCLA it looks like UCI is the most realistic choice for me that is still among my top choices. Anyways when application season rolls around what should I do to show UCI that I am interested?

Take a tour.

Their official site doesn’t list applicant’s interest as one of their evaluation criteria but, i also see it listed as important in their Common Data Set.

Donating millions of dollars for a new library or medical school is usually very effective.

A tour or two, booked in the students name with the same email address they plan to list when they apply.

If you see them at a college fair, visit their booth and be sure they record your email.

It can’t hurt to subscribe to the school’s twitter feed, friend them on Facebook, follow them on instigram, pinterest, and wherever else they post.

@NCalRent Unfortunately my last name isn’t Gates, Buffett, Trump or Winfrey.

Yeah I’ll look for them at a college fair and hopefully put my name out there somehow, I didn’t think they looked at applicants interest either. Maybe it was just a typo, idk.

You got me curios… you can also do a virtual tour at the link above and ‘register to stay in touch’. Be sure to use the student email that will be associated with the application.

Interesting… Alright. And I went back and looked over the common data set for the last several years and they all list level of applicant’s interest as “Very Important.” So I don’t think that it was just a typo, UCI is interesting in the sense that I feel like they value certain things differently than a lot of the other UC schools do when it comes to admissions.
