What is a good way to study and score higher in the ACT Test??

Well, I just recently took the ACT Test on Sept. 13th and got my scores yesterday, I got a composite score of 17!!! Which is HORRIBLE! =/
On the last ACT Test prep, I just used the ACT Prep. Books and practice those questions on there, it didn't help that much though. I need to find another way of studying so I can score higher on my next ACT Test? I might retake it again. Last time was my 2nd time taking the test, the first time on the ACT..I got only a composite score of 15..so I did went up two pts higher last time. I'm still upset about my score though. I'm aiming for a 20 this time if I choose to retake it again. Should I retake it again or not?? I'm going to ask for a ACT Waiver so it will be a FREE test. What is a very good way to study in order to score high on the ACT?
Please give me some test-taking strategies as well!!
Thanks!! ;)

Ouch, sorry to hear that. You should study ACT strategy for sure. There isn't a whole lot to it except for working on your timing, because it's not as screwy as the SAT, but it would still help to learn the strategies.

I would get a review book like Cracking the ACT (it has the most recs on here and is a great book). Read it from beginning to end, and then take another test. It has four tests if I remember correctly.

Hope it helps...
