What is a Legacy @ CMU and does it matter?

what is the definition of legacy @ CMU, and affect on admissions? The common definition of legacy is the child of a graduate of the undergraduate college. At some schools, this is expanded to include children whose parents graduated from any division of the universty, grandparents, siblings, and other variations.

Looking on the CMU website, I can't find a definition. The CMU app supplement asks for

"Related alumni: List immediate family members who have graduated from or are presently attending Carnegie Mellon."

So, does anybody know how CMU defines and treats legacies? Specifically, I'm interested in whether a parent who attended a CMU grad school, or a grandparent who attended undergrad creates a "legacy", and if so what affect on getting in?

Hmm... I haven't heard of anything like that at CMU. There might be a few legacy lines at CMU, but I haven't heard of any. You're the first one who's ever mentioned the possibility of it to me.
