hi everyone, i am a malaysian working at singapore. but in the same time, i am a part-time student at an open university in my hometown, . . i hope that some of you can help me with my confussion.

first: what is a minor?

second: what is the best minor for my current study? B.Ed (Teaching of English as A Second Language, TESL)?

third: can you do a minor if you dont get good grades?

any information and feedback from you guys will be very helpful.

THANK YOU :)

One: A major is the actual degree you get (English, French, Communications) a minor is a specialized concentration that you have taken classes in BUT not enough to earn a degree in. For example, in order to get an English major you would take 12 classes (36 credits) and for a minor you would take 3 class (9 credits).

Two: Many schools only let you have a minor in education-so that might be your minor. If you’re going to a school where they let you major in education you do not necessarily need a minor.

Three: You can have a minor without decent grades-whether or not you can have a minor is determined by how many elective spaces that you have open. If you have bad grades though taking more classes might not be great for your GPA
